Gear You DON'T NEED Once You Use Your Smartphone For Real Estate Photography
It’s really easy to overthink photography, especially when there are all these accessories and knick knacks out there helping us make it “so much easier”. A lot of times, I’ll carry a huge bag of gear, and I won’t use half of it. Now, for me, it always pays to “Be Prepared” (as an Eagle Scout you learn to live by that motto), but a lot of the time, more gear means more work than necessary.
I’ve talked to you about accessories that will make your smartphone photography better such as an attachable lens and some apps, but I want to let you in on stuff you really don’t need to worry about anymore.
Tripods are extremely important to me as a professional, because in order to get all the hi-res data I need for a shot, I need a perfectly stable camera. Smartphone contain “in-camera” stabilization already, so you have to work pretty hard to have “camera shake” in your smartphone photos.
Along the same lines of keeping the camera stable, I use a weighted gimbal to get smooth panning video shots in a house. Not only that, but my drones have gimbals attached to them in order to keep the video as stable as possible as well. Smartphones in 2019 have a “software gimbal” that is 100% already built-in, so for basic video work, there’s no gimbal needed, unless you’re looking to get into some extreme sports.
Expensive Editing Software
We’ve talked about this a great deal already, but for great real estate smartphone photo and editing apps and software, the MAX you need to spend is $1.99.
That’s right. No need to pay Adobe $30 a month for Creative Cloud or any other major photo editing company. Every thing you need is either built-in to the phone or you can easily download from the app store for a very low price.
Some of this sounds too good to be true, either that, or you’ve tried the techniques and apps I’ve illustrated thus far and you’re still wondering how I can get the results that I say I’m getting. Fortunately, sign ups for our Smartphone Photography Workshop for Realtors hasn’t ended yet! We will be talking about how to use these tools, and then we are actually going to use them to photograph a house in Anderson, South Carolina.
WE HAVE TWO DATES AVAILABLE FOR THE CLASS! YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR EITHER THE TUESDAY, AUGUST 27 9AM-11AM CLASS OR THE THURSDAY, AUGUST 29 9AM-11AM CLASS IN ANDERSON, SC.
